Action movies have Secret Confessions (2025) Maid in Heaven Episode 42become all about the mid-credit tease and the post-credit shocker.
The MCU has recently used these bonus bits to introduce new characters, tease cross-promotional tie-ins, and drop some seriously star-powered cameos. The Fast and Furious movies have done the same. Recently, Dom and his crew salved the sting of a mind-snapping cliffhanger with a one-two punch of returning cast members that had audiences roaring with anticipation. But Indiana Jones is a franchise that predates this trend. So will Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destinydemand audiences sit through the credits to get the full story?
Director James Mangold stayed true to Steven Spielberg's adventure franchise in a lot of ways. Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is back in the swing of things in his signature leathers, fedora, and whip. He's teamed up with a charismatic bombshell (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) and a plucky kid sidekick (Ethann Isidore). The archaeology professor leaps from classrooms to a globe-trekking adventure in a single action sequence, grappling with crawling critters, old friends, and new foes. And best of all, he's back in the Nazi punching business.
True to all this, Mangold did not opt to gild the lily with a mid-credit or post-credit scene. If you've seen the start of the credits, you've seen all the Indy goodness that Indiana Jones 5has got to give. But hey, staying through the credits is still a great way to appreciate the full scope of people power that went into creating this two-hour and 34-minute epic of adventure, archaeology, and Archimedes lore!
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destinyis now in theaters.
