The Watch Human Capital OnlineU.S. Department of Commerce announced in a conference call on Friday morning that DJI, a big name in the consumer drone space, would be put on a government blacklist, according to Reuters.
No specific reasons were given in the initial announcement, though it wouldn't be the first time the outgoing Trump administration has done this with a Chinese tech company. Huawei dealt with similar problems last year.
DJI produces consumer drones like the Mavic Air 2 and accounts for a staggering 70 percent of the private drone market, per Business Insider.
