As the old saying goes,Watch Lonely Wives Club 3 Online where there's smoke, there's fire... and, these days, probably an explosive Samsung product or two.
One of the company's stores in Singapore mall AMK Hub caught fire early this morning, causing other stores in the center to close temporarily for safety precautions and cleaning, reports Singapore's Straits Times. The blaze, which started in the store's storage room, was quickly put out by water sprinklers and no one was hurt.
The cause of the fire still hasn't been determined, so we can't make any wild assumptions just yet – but it's just the latest in a long line of Samsung-related conflagrations.
A Samsung rep confirmed the incident to us via email. "We are currently assessing the property damage and working closely with the authorities to determine the cause of the fire," they said. "The store will remain temporarily closed during this period. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused."
This is not a good look for Samsung. The explosive Galaxy Note 7 fiasco was a disaster and resulted in 4.3 million recalled phones. Over 2 million of the company's washing machines were also recalled last November after reports of explosions.
John Oliver famously lampooned the recalls on Last Week Tonight, producing a hilarious fake ad showing a wide range of Samsung products blowing up.
The South Korean company will finally announce the much-hyped Galaxy S8, its first big mobile release since the Note 7, during an event in New York City on Wednesday. It's sure to be an exciting show, but we can just about guarantee one thing: There won't be any pyrotechnics to amp up the crowd.
