Falloutis going online with Fallout: 76.
The Caged Womenworld got an in-depth look at what to expect with Fallout: 76during Bethesda's E3 press conference on Sunday. The latest game from the Fallout franchise takes place entirely online, meaning you'll be able to play with other players if you'd like for the first time and either team up to fight monsters or try to blow each other's limbs off starting on Nov. 14.
SEE ALSO: 'Wolfenstein: Young Blood' brings kickass Nazi-killing to the '80sAs we learned with Fallout: 76's reveal a couple weeks ago, the game takes place in West Virginia where players are some of the first people to emerge from the country's vaults on the tricentennial: 2076.
Here's a look at the very beginning of the game when you first set out into the nuclear bomb-blasted world:
Bethesda game director Tod Howard said that Fallout: 76is inspired by the real West Virginia, as seen in some of the game's clips. There are tons of new creatures in the game, including a gross mutant toad, horrible bug creatures, and creepy people who undoubtedly got a bit too much exposure to nuclear fallout.
In terms of how online will work, you won't be playing in the same world with every other Fallout: 76player in the world, because that would be crazy. Instead of playing with hundreds of people at once, only a few dozen will be occupying the same online space as you.
The game will feature PvP so don't worry about not being able to kill other people if that's what you're into.
If you want to play with friends, apparently it will be very easy to join the same server and you'll never lose any progress doing so.
With friends, you can build up awesome bases and fight against gigantic mutant beasts together. Take a look:
For people who aren't huge fans of playing online, Howard suggested that the online portion of Fallout: 76is optional.
Of course, as the latest game in the franchise it's the most technically impressive. Howard mentioned that Fallout: 76has 16 times the detail of the previous Fallout game, and the online play will be completely seamless on Bethesda's dedicated servers.
Lucky for all the Fallout fans out there the wait won't be too long.
