The Six Swedish Girls at a Pump (High Test Girlsnext time you're thinking of tweeting a photo of a Civil Rights legend in a casket, just, uh ... don't.
Earlier today, the Newsweek twitter account shared a photo of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in his casket with the caption, "Have you seen my brother Martin?" The tweet was promptly deleted, but not before it caught the attention and ire of Twitter.

As did many others.
Let’s recap. @newsweek posted a headline with an image seen by Bernice King. Deleted. They’re shuffling featured images. Zero apology. https://t.co/VEFqqo7DGC pic.twitter.com/V7HyGcx0YM

Why did @Newsweek use an image of MLK in his casket to anchor their random compilation piece?

Newsweek has removed a horrible tweet that Bernice just shared but the damage was done. An awful mess. https://t.co/ZiUL7y83M3

The tweet appears to be referencing an article from the Council of Foreign Affairs site, which listed historical anniversaries from this year. It's a painful and necessary anniversary to remember, so Twitter pleaded the site to use a less triggering photo. Literally any other photo would do.
There's so much greatness to pull from.
We reached out to Newsweekto ask how the photo was included in the tweet, but did not get a response.
