"History's just a competition, the queen of eroticism" sings M.I.A. on her sunny, lackadaisical critique of the world order, "Freedun." Zayn also sings on the track, which is a surprising but perfect collaboration.
Listen to the song below and listen to an interview with M.I.A. talking about her upcoming record, AIM,out September 9.
SEE ALSO: Zayn Malik is finally free to make his own mistakes on 'Mind of Mine'"I kind of handed the album in and I left, and he sort of called up and kind of got on the song as I was heading to the airport and it just kind of happened," M.I.A. explained to BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac, describing what sounds like an inspiring creative process. She previously stated that the duo worked on the song using WhatsApp.
Here's the single's cover art, which does not feature Zayn.
M.I.A. has apparently shot some footage for the video in the Himalayans, but doesn't know whether or not she wants to use it yet.
