One of our writers made eye contact with a woman pressed to the side of a nearby building. She must have seen his wristband, because she immediately pulled out a pair of Spectacles and asked if he wanted to buy them. We've also heard tell of a man who walks around the line carrying two bags full of Spectacles, though we did not witness this man ourselves.

Buying from one of these folks wasn't necessarily a bad idea for New Yorkers back in November, when lines at the Spectacles store were agonizingly long and the hallowed space inside seemed more like a dreamland than something attainable by any mortal not willing to experience some leg cramps. Now, though, things have changed.

Buy them online

Ebay has a ton of Spectacles on sale for a range of prices, though there are plenty in the $250-300 range. Craigslist, too, has a bunch of Spectacles on sale for somewhere in the same price range, though Ebay is probably the better option if you want them delivered directly to you in the shortest time possible.

They are still not cheap, but they've come way down from the $5,000-range price tags from when Spectacles first became a thing earlier this year. So if you've got the means and you know someone who wants them badly enough, your best bet may well be the internet.
