This year was so good for movies that even some of the bad ones got Oscar nominations. (Yes,Watch Money Heist Online we're looking at you, Passengers.)

He scored a Golden Globe nomination for indie darling Captain Fantastic, and while he may not take home the winning statue, it's great to see the film (and his stellar performance) get more love.
Amazon Studios became the first streaming service to land a best picture Oscar nomination. The awards love for Manchester By The Seamakes their decision to pay $10 million for the rights to the Sundance hit a year ago a smart move.
Lin-Manuel Miranda has an Emmy, Grammy and Tony, and now he's up for an Oscar for Best Original Song in Moana. The odds are stacked in favor of La La Land, but entering two songs could split votes and hurt the film's chance of winning -- paving the way for Miranda to join the hallowed ranks of EGOT winners. Bonus: If Miranda scores an Oscar this year, he'll become the youngest even EGOT recipient.
Beyond Emma Stone (the favorite to win the category), not one of the Best Actress nominees is in a Best Picture-nominated film. Keep trying, Amy Adams.
Don't be fooled by its two noms (Production Design and Original Score). Seriously, save yourself.
