As if the concept of "privacy" weren't folly enough in this digital age996 Archives meet Ingrid Thorburn.

Aubrey Plaza plays the title character in Ingrid Goest West, which premiered at Sundance in January, comes to theaters this weekend and fed my Veronica Marsjones with every delicious scene. I loved the film, in no small part because of its perfect depiction of the everyday deceptions that are the stock-in-trade of my favorite fictional private eyes like Mars, Jim Rockford and Travis McGee.

Except Ingrid's private investigations aren't for a client -- they're for her. And she's not just a cyberstalker. Ingrid is an accidental super-sleuth who uses subtle misdirection and quick thinking to manipulate everyone around her. She's brilliant at it.

In this Ingrid Goes Westclip shared exclusively with Mashable, watch Ingrid totally play a dopey waiter into telling her what her mark (Taylor Sloane, played by Elizabeth Olsen) had for brunch that day -- just one of the dozens of slick moves she uses to get closer to being friends with the Instagram star.

It's not even close to her best move. That involves kidnapping a dog.
