ByteDance is Yoo Jungset to exit the game sector by shutting down its major gaming arm, Nuverse, according to local media outlet IFENG. Insiders revealed that ByteDance will announce the closure of Nuverse on Monday, instructing employees internally to cease development on all unreleased games. Meanwhile, the company is also expected to explore potential sales of existing gaming titles. This move signifies the end of ByteDance’s adventure into the gaming sector, with no plans to re-enter the global game market valued at $185 billion, as claimed by sources. As of the time of writing, ByteDance has not commented on this matter. [IFENG, in Chinese]
