In 2021,War Archives OnePlus launched its first smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch. And it was...well, a watch. It told the time and it had long battery life, but other than that, it was very limited in what it could do. Customization options left a lot to be desired, and on top of all that, there were quite a few bugs.
It appears the company is aware of just how half-baked that first product was, because it's now teasing a new wearable with the tagline: "It's time, to do it right!"
Details are painfully absent, but the outline of what looks like a steel-cased smartwatch is quite clearly discernible in the image.
Word on the street is that OnePlus plans to launch the new watch, likely named the OnePlus Watch 2, during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which kicks off on Feb. 26. Leaker Max Jambor claims that the watch will launch on that date exactly.
SEE ALSO: Blood oxygen feature now officially gone from Apple WatchAs for the specs, so far we've heard that the new OnePlus watch will have a 1.43-inch AMOLED display and Qualcomm's Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, and that this time it will run on Google Wear OS 4. This would be a big change from the first iteration of the OnePlus Watch, which ran on OnePlus' proprietary OS, which severely limited customization options and app support.
In any case, we'll be there in Barcelona to bring you the official news. Here's Mashable's guide to what else you can expect at MWC 2024.
