Better Call Saulis calling in another Breaking Badcharacter next season — but free family sex videosone that not even the most hardcore fans are bound to recognize.
As announced during the Better Call SaulComic-Con panel Thursday, Tony Dalton will show up in Season 4 as Lalo, a character who was referenced in Breaking Badbut never actually seen.
SEE ALSO: 'Better Call Saul' will hit 'Breaking Bad'-era scenes in upcoming seasonIn fact, it's Saul (née Jimmy) himself who references Lalo in the Breaking BadSeason 2 episode "Better Call Saul."
As a masked Walt and Jesse hold Saul at gunpoint, Saul pins the blame for some unexplained crime on Nacho (played by Michael Mando in Better Call Saul), and then asks if "Lalo" sent them.
At the time, it was just a throwaway line. None of the characters explained who Lalo was, or what he might want, or why he might be angry enough with Saul to send goons after him.
But it looks like we're about to find out, and the Comic-Con audience got a little clue in the form of a first-look photo. In it, Dalton's Lalo is talking to Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis).
Ugh, we have a feeling that whatever it is, it's gonna spell trouble for poor Nacho.
The Better Call Sauland Breaking Badcast hinted that Lalo might not be the only familiar(ish) figure resurfacing on Better Call Saulthis season. With the show headed into "Breaking Badterritory" at some point soon, there are so many possibilities.
Two who definitely won't appear, however, are Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.
"You will not see Walt or Jesse in Season 4," said executive producer Vince Gilligan. "Not to be a downer, but we don't want to jerk you folks around."
That doesn't mean, though, that they'll neverappear on the show. "I suspect that we would be sorely remiss if those characters didn't appear on the show before it ended," he admitted.
Better Call Saulreturns Aug. 6 on AMC.
