Taika Waititi will return to the world of Marvel to write and Irelanddirect Marvel's 'Thor 4,' according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Waititi wrote and directed 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, which took Chris Hemsworth's Asgardian hero Thor Odinson in a different, more comedic direction than his two previous movies and was the best reviewed Thor movie in the MCU, with a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score compared to Thor: The Dark World's 66% and Thor's 77%.
He also played the alien gladiator Korg in Thor: Ragnarokand recently reprised his role in Avengers: Engdame.
Waititi's return to write and direct 'Thor 4' comes after rumors that he would replace Guardians of the Galaxydirector James Gunn for Guardians of the Galaxy 3, rumors that Waititi refuted and were proved wrong when Gunn returned to the helm of the Guardians franchise.
His involvement in this project will also bump a previous commitment to Warner Bros. live action Akira movie, which is now up in the air considering Waititi's Marvel commitments.
