As I'm sure you heard,Lie with me explicit sex scenes (2005) - Lauren Lee smith Disney bought 20th Century Fox for $52 billion today. And I'm sure your first thought was, what does this mean for The Simpsons?
While we don't know exactly, we will gladly speculate while ruminating on the fact that, for 28 years, the longest-running animated show has dunked on the Big Mouse company over and over again.

Another huge thing that Disney bought -- besides the right to include X-Men in their Avengers movies -- is a hefty share of control over streaming platform Hulu. As we wrote, one of Disney's main goals for buying the media company would be to compete with Netflix's and Amazon's growing influence with its own enormous back catalog. That includes The Simpsons.
The almost 700 episodes of the show have only been available with a subscription to the FXX platform Simpsons World and on DVD. Well, now that's changed. If it wanted, Disney could put The Simpsons on Hulu for all to see.
Oh, and The Simpsons has always really despised Disney. You can't forget that.
But on the other hand, Disney might be a little disappointed that The Simpsons has only had ONE movie. Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012 basically to make more Star Wars. Who's to say that they aren't interested in exploring the vast Simpsonsuniverse and creating a bevy of annual movies.
This may be a good or bad thing for fans. Maybe people would love to see a procedural cop show starring Chief Wiggum, a super-dark Moe Szyslak movie, or a Milhouse Vah Houten college romp.
Also, this is from that movie:

Or maybe nothing will happen! Disney may just want the syndication rights and will stay happy with Simpsons World. Maybe in the future, they'll make use of the years and years of episodes, but maybe they won't!
But at least we have the many, many examples of how little The Simpsonsshow thinks of Disney.
Oh, and don't forget that they predicted this whole thing years ago.
